Recently we sat down with one of our 2nd place finisher from 2017 Clinton Rihn to talk about turning pro in 2018.
Clinton Rihn, PDGA #95555, Rated 980, Onalaska, Wisconsin
What was your favorite part of the Disc Golf Pro Tour Memorial?
My favorite part was seeing the top level pros in person. I’ve seen a lot of them on film before but it’s different seeing them play in person.
What was it like to play with Professionals?
I felt like there was more pressure to play well because to even be close to the top pros I would have to play perfect.
What was your highlight of your game?
After playing poorly for the first 2 rounds, I finally played well in round 3 at Fountain Hills with 9 birdies and made every putt inside the circle 1.
Was the event what you expected?
I expected it to be like the Next Gen finale and it was very similar. For the top pros it felt the same, but for the lower end guys it didn’t quite have the same buzz as the Next Gen event because we were all similar skill level there and at the Memorial there was a clear gap between top and bottom.
Would you come back to the Memorial in your future?
Yes, I would come back to the Memorial. I like both of the courses we played and the weather is way better than Wisconsin in early March.
