We talked with Next Gen 4th place finisher Benjamin Cole recently about the DGPT. He took Took 115th out of 182 players with a -1 at the Memorial. That’s only three stokes from cashing! His family and friends showed support.

What was your favorite part of the Disc Golf Pro Tour Memorial?
My favorite part of the Pro Tour Memorial was having the opportunity to play with some of the big names in disc golf.
What was it like to play with Professionals?
Playing with the professionals was eye-opening. When watching online videos, you don’t really get to see how they hold their composure between shots because the videos are edited.
What was your highlight of your game?
The highlight of my game was during the second round at Vista del Camino with an Ace Run on hole 12 (it’s an elevated shot thrown over the water with OB across the gunite). I turned over a Thunderbird and as it faded back towards the basket, it hit the top band and I walked away with a birdie.
Was the event what you expected?
To tell you the honest truth, Dave Feldberg, Synthya Whitaker & the rest of the Latitude 64/NG Staff did such an amazing job with the NG Tournament that I feel that my expectations were set rather high. NG Tournament ran much smoother and catered more to the players as a whole. Memorial wasn’t quite as organized, specifically the tee times and amount of spotters. Props to the Latitude and Next Gen Team for organizing such an awesome event – it’ll be tough to beat!
Would you come back to the Memorial in your future?
Regarding my answer in the previous question, it was not in any way a ‘bad’ tournament and I’ll definitely attend another Memorial . Although I’m disappointed in how I played, that’s what next year is for. So yes, you will see me again.
